Uptown, Knox–Henderson, and the Katy Trail corridor form the polished core — wine bars, patio restaurants, and the metro's most natural habitat for a professional 40+ crowd; the Katy Trail itself is the city's best walking first meeting. Bishop Arts in Oak Cliff is the conversational antidote to Uptown gloss: bookstores, coffee, small rooms, genuine neighborhood texture. Lakewood and the M Streets run settled and low-key with White Rock Lake — nine miles of daylight loop — as their social anchor. The northern arc — Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Richardson — holds an enormous 40+ suburban population; Plano's Legacy West and McKinney's historic square are complete first-meeting districts without a downtown drive.
